Goodbye July, Hello August

WHEW… July Drained Me.

I can’t be the only one who thought July was the longest month of our wholeeee entire lives. I’m not kidding. Some of the things I did this month feel like they happened months ago. July was full of great things and exciting firsts… but whewwww, it also took me through thereeee. Took me through thereeeeeee.

On July 2nd, I launched my baby—my blog. 🤍 And that truly means so much to me. I’ve also been posting more on Instagram and even uploaded a few videos to YouTube. For the first time in a long time, I feel like I’m creating content with purpose. That alone has been incredibly fulfilling.

On the other hand… there was grief. There was pain. Pain I never saw coming that hit me like a ton of bricks. I honestly thought it was going to take me months just to feel okay again. And maybe healing will take time—but somehow… I’m okay. I’m fine. The worst is over, and I thank God for bringing me to where I am today.

To sum up that chapter, I have two songs for you: this month started with “Beetlejuice” by Mariah the Scientist and is ending with “Finally Over It” by Summer Walker. I’ll let the playlist tell the rest of the story. 🎧📖

I also worked like a doggggg. Every. Single. Day. Putting that work in. My pockets got hit HARD this month—bills, because life never stops… the everyday essentials… and my twins happily celebrated their 6th birthday. So yes… my wallet definitely felt it. 😂

But thank God.

That’s really all I can say. We’re all healthy, my babies are happy, and we’re walking out of July even more blessed than we walked into it.

Oh… and I almost forgot. I went through my 100th (and hopefully final 😂) quarter-life crisis, cut my hair, and got a tattoo.

Yeah… July was a wildddd ride.

I feel like I experienced every emotion possible this month, but I truly believe it’s all for a reason, a season, and a lesson.

So here I am, ending July on a Friday night, laying in bed with the company of dear ol’ Mother Nature and a dirty soda.

IKRRRRR… no wineeee?

Yep. You heard me.

It’s time for a change.

Anywho…

May August be the month we stop chasing and start receiving. May it be filled with answered prayers, unexpected joy, peace that makes no sense, and blessings we didn’t even know to ask for.

Cheers to August.

xoxo, Lex 🤍
