Aw, Things Not Going Your Way? You Mad?
Welp… it’s August, and I haven’t uploaded a YouTube video in about three weeks.
Do I hate myself for it? EHHHH.😂
I did, however, decide that I was going to be consistent, and that has obviously taken a little turn.
But in MY DEFENSE… I’ve had a LOT going on.
The girls’ birthday was at the end of July, so getting everything together for their party and actually doing something special for them on their birthday took up a lot of my time. THEN BOOM… the very next week, it was time to get them ready for a successful school year, which took up even more of my time.
And now? I just feel… ALL OVER THE PLACE.
Currently trying to get myself back on track with quite literally everything.
Getting the girls off to school means figuring out a whole new schedule. Getting back into the gym after being out for a few weeks because, of course, health is wealth. Getting back into my routines. Working on a few other things in my life that God has called me to work on.
Including being a good mom.
And THAT is why I was initially pretty upset about getting off track.
But at the same time… my babies come before anything.
Not taking care of those kids would be the ULTIMATE failure to me.
So, in due time, I’ll get back to YouTube. I’ll get back on track. I’ll have some of the best ideas ever, and I’ll pick right back up where I left off.
And honestly? I think that’s the point I’m trying to make.
If you’re currently upset because things aren’t going the way you planned them to go…
So am I, sis.
😂
But let’s loosen up a little bit.
Don’t be mad. Don’t beat yourself up. Don’t convince yourself that you’re failing just because your timeline changed.
Buckle down. Do what you have to do. Handle your business. And have faith that God is working.
Sometimes the thing that throws us off our plans is actually the thing God needed us to prioritize.
And I truly believe that He has an even better plan.
I had plans for my schedule. Plans for my content. Plans for myself.
But God had plans for my babies, too.
And being there for the people who need you — especially your children — is worth the sacrifice.
Use your discernment, though.😂 Especially if they’re not your kids. Because let’s not have you out here sacrificing yourself for everybody who calls your phone.
But seriously… serving others is part of what we were put on this earth to do. And when you do it with a genuine heart and good intentions, I believe there is something beautiful about that.
You may have to put some things on pause.
You may have to change your schedule.
You may have to miss a few opportunities.
You may even feel like you’re falling behind.
But you are not behind if you are exactly where you need to be.
Handle your business.
Take care of what God has placed in front of you.
Give yourself some grace.
And trust that when it’s time for you to pick those other things back up, you’ll be ready.
So, if August isn’t going exactly how you planned…
Aw, things not going your way? You mad?
😂
Don’t be.
Buckle down, have faith, and keep going.
God is still working.
And sometimes the detour is the blessing.
Be blessed. 🤎
xoxo, Lex
UPDATE:
So… remember when I said things don’t always go the way you planned? 😂
I planned to clean today and then have a movie night with my kids.
Well… I unexpectedly got a kid-free day AND night. 👀
So I cleaned up, went for a run around the lake — something I’ve been wanting to do for a while — came home and made myself a delicious, healthy meal… and now I’m in bed.
Posting this blog.
Watching The Notebook.
And honestly?
I had an amazing day.
😂🥹
It’s funny because sometimes we can get so caught up in what we planned that we forget to appreciate what actually happened.
Today wasn’t what I expected it to be, but it was exactly what I needed.
Thank you, God. 🤎
Maybe the detour really is the blessing.
